Creativity

The nature of creativity never ceases to amaze me. I have been rather "off my game" the last two days. I don't know if it is the flu or what, but suffice it to say that everything I have hurts. So I did what the commercials always recommend....take two of (whatever the going pain reliever of choice) and went back to bed. While reclining in my bed of pain, the ideas for new kits started coming thick and fast. Now, I ask you....why then? Weird. But I'll take it...it has been a while since I've had any ideas worth talking about.

Anyhow...since I seem to have stumbled over some new ideas, I feel like celebrating! So here is a wee mini that I found when I was going through files the other day. It is some of my early work...but maybe you can use it anyway. Enjoy.

A New Look

I'm playing around with a new look for an old blog. It is a new season and so I decided to have a new header and look. This is still under construction, but it is a start. The Prairie Woman Design is the name under which I design and sell....and have done for the last couple of years. The logo is new. Bluebonnets have always been a part of my logo, since I am inordinately fond of them and they grow all over our region. But I wanted a bit more of a prairie/western flavor....hence, the well-worn boots. I have a pair just like them, only they began life as gray snakeskin. Now, they actually look a lot like the pair on the header. I won't tell you why they are brown now.... anyone who lives in this part of the country knows....

I got out the other day and got some pretty decent photos of some of the thousands of Bluebonnets that are springing up everywhere. They are perfection right now after all the rain. The sad thing is that they only last for a couple of weeks each year. The good thing is that they are soon replaced by Black-Eyed Susans, Queen Anne's Lace, Prairie Primrose, and all kinds of other wildflowers. The priaire colors go from Bluebonnet blue and Indian Paintbrush corals to Black-Eyed Susan yellow, white and pinks....an ever-changing panoply of beauty. I love Oklahoma.

A New Season...

Spring has arrived on the Great Plains, for which I am grateful. Everything is green, and the Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush are blooming in all the fields and pastures. It is a glorious sight. It also reminds me of the eternal rebirth of all good things. The bad stuff comes and goes, but the good things are with us always.

One great thing that has happened is that I have been asked to come back to the Digital Design Den, which is where I sort of started. Thank you, Sandy! Sandy Collins is a truly wonderful woman and as sweet as they come. She called me one day a couple of weeks ago and asked me if I would be interested in selling my kits in the store there. (Would I???) Done and done! I have one kit there so far, and more to follow. It really is a homecoming, because there are still so many familiar faces there, as well as new friends waiting to be made.

In honor of the move, here is a little something that I would like you to have....a set of date brushes and PNG's that you may use for whatever strikes your fancy....they are quite large, so they will downsize well. They will also make nice masks. Hope you will enjoy them. You may use them for either personal or commercial use. If you use them, please drop me a note and let me see what you did with them!
